In Which I Assist and We Rock

Last night's show was as success for sure. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew it would be a much better run. An imposingly tall, but rotund man wearing an Easter egg green shirt was busily running cords and unplugging things as we loaded in our equipment. Previous experience told me not to expect much of a welcome from the venue folks, but Frank immediately introduced himself, and even called me lovely. We ended up talking for over an hour at the bar while we waited for people to file in. He was interested in religion and some Dan Brown-type stuff. I listened and it was all very intriguing. A very studious well-read gentleman, if perhaps given over to strange theories. Everyone else at the Rutledge was equally as friendly, but not quite as talkative (or interesting) as Frank.

The simplifications Sammy made went very well. Omega Swan provided the perfect musical accompaniment to our illusions. Everyone rocked which was good since all 3 of Sammy's agents showed up. In talking with them afterwards one of the agents, Phillip, said that he really liked it when I levitated. Gratified, I Vanna White-ed Sammy and said, "He's amazing!" at which point Charlie, another of the agents looked at me earnestly and said, "You are perfect for this. Absolutely perfect for this. I hope you keep with it." I told him thank you and that I did plan to stay. It was a great night.

Except that Darius quit. Not enough money in it for him. Understandable, but unfortunate. Seeking stagehand in Nashville area.

I snapped this photo with Sammy's iPhone before the show last night.

This is Sammy, my magician (he doesn't like to be called that, but if I'm his assistant then he's my magician).
