It took some serious shaking to get the badland dust off of my shoes. Seriously, that stuff gets everywhere and it lingers!
I felt like SC and I had been to Mars and back. The distance, the landscape, and the complete other-ness of it all- I needed to be with the people I love. So, I went to Asheville for a couple days. That was wonderful. It felt really good to be at my grandparents' house, eating home made food at that 100 year old table, visiting with the folks who raised me. That's medicine worth driving for.
Carlos and I decided to be 10 again. We bought water guns and sidewalk chalk. We drew a picture of St. Louis on the ground at the park and then shot at each other with the plastic pistols until we were both liberally sprinkled.
I got to see Ryan and Poncho and Adam, too. That was great. I miss my buds when I'm in Music City. Wish I could have had a night at the Rose with the rest, but there just wasn't time.
Little Hendersonville is growing up. I noticed a few new construction sites on my way to the old homestead. Leaving it was hard. My family is so much a part of me; it's not easy having them so many hours away. At least it's only 5 and not 35. I am glad to be back in Nashville. Exciting things are happening here. Like SC booking more shows! And me interviewing at the cupcake shop today! I think it went well. Won't hear back until Monday or Tuesday. Oh Labor Day *sigh*.
Playing with the idea of making cupcakes tonight. I've been kinda wanting one since the interview and I think I have all the ingredients...
Gda and I did the happy dance for you!!!!
